When the weather starts getting colder, I always tend to gain a couple extra pounds! I eat so much holiday food and tons of comfort food because it's so cold out, and I always gind myself struggling to get back to where I was. I'm trying to stay on top of it this year, and I'm using these tips to stay healthier this winter! 1. Drink WaterThis is probably the most important tip here! Drinking a lot of water will help keep you more full throughout the day. The standard is that you should take half your body weight and drink that amount in ounces. For example, if you weigh 140lbs, then you should be drinking 70 oz of water every day! It can be challenging at first, but drinking water has loads of benefits! 2. Drink TeaDrinking hot tea instead of fattening hot chocolate, eggnog, or cider makes a huge difference! My favorite tea is the Yogi Peach Detox tea. It contains dandelion, which is a great detoxer. I add half a lemon and a couple tablespoons of honey, and it tastes like the best thing in the world. 3. Eat Healthy Comfort FoodI ate A LOT of Mac N Cheese last year, which was so unhealthy! This year, instead of eating loads of carb-heavy comfort food, I'm eating healthy chili and soups. My mom (bless her) makes huge pots at a time and gives them to me to stock my freezer. I eat tons of vegetarian chili, vegetable soup, and corn soup! Much Love,
