House Tour

You guys asked so here it is! We've been living in this house for almost a year now, so this has been a long time coming, but I feel like we've finally gotten to the point that I can show our space. I think it will always be a work in progress, as there's still definitely a couple things I would like to rearrange, but I feel like it's at a pretty good point right now!

Jackson was 100% napping when I took these, haha! Champ always has to be cuddling with him when he can.

I take 90% of my Home Instagram pictures in this spot! It has the best natural light in the house, and I happen to really love our throw pillows, haha!

I get a lot of questions about the images above my sofa! I was actually really into surrealist photography when I was in high school, so I actually did the images myself. We had really great resources, so I was able to take classes and print the images through my school. The frames are from Target, and were super inexpensive!

So the living room is honestly where I spend 80% of time. I love having the tv on in the background while I’m working. I’m usually listening to music or watching YouTube/Netflix. We don’t have cable just because it’s so pricey and just felt like a luxury since we already have Netflix.

We do live in a duplex, so we only have windows on two sides of the apartment, which is a bummer because I LIVE for brightly lit spaces. I do love that we have those three windows to let in a lot of light in the afternoon. We live on the side of a hill, so our place is pretty dark in the mornings (which Jackson loves) but it gets some really great afternoon light!

The Kitchen

We have a little galley kitchen in our house, and I honestly love the space. We have more storage in our kitchen than in our last place, but the only bummer is that we don't have a pantry, so we do store some food in cabinets. We have a lot of the OXO containers and do place a lot of our bulk food in these as well on an old bookshelf just outside the kitchen. We haven't started to do it yet, but I'm wanting to start actually buying these items in bulk (you can get food in bulk at places like Whole Foods) to reduce our packaging waste. We recycle everything we can, but I always feel so ashamed by how quickly we accumulate trash.

I'm in love with this Full Circle brush! We picked ours up at the container store and it's really great for scrubbing tough food off of our dishes!

Guys we literally have so many different ways to brew coffee in our house. We have the basic Keurig that tons of people have. Unlike most people, however, we use a reusable pod, because I hate the amount of single-use plastic that comes with the individual pods! We also have a Mr. Coffee Espresso machine, and (my personal favorite) a french press. I love the taste the french press gives, because I find that it doesn't burn the coffee like the others do, since it takes longer to brew.

We live in a two-bedroom one-bathroom house and, guys, our bathroom is TINY! It's really difficult for Jackson and I to be in the bathroom at the same time, just because it's such a narrow space.

Guys I know it's probably annoying how much I talk about trying to help the environment, but I've also switched to bar soap over liquid soap. We do still have a liquid soap container, but we rarely use it anymore, just because I hate having to buy the plastic container it comes in. There's so many people at farmers markets that make soap, and it's so inexpensive! I just bring a little reusable bag with me and grab a two or three bars for just a couple dollars. I would definitely recommend it, because there's so many incredible scents to try!

This is seriously the best scented candle for my bathroom! I couldn't find one in this size but I found a slightly larger one from Hobby Lobby here!
Picture
This is our bathroom closet setup. The builders literally built it out of plywood and painted it, haha, so it isn't the highest quality of setups, but we've learned how to make it work! I keep my makeup and hair tools on the bottom shelf, towels on the middle shelf, and all my other bathroom products in bins on the top shelf.

Our bedroom is in the front of our house, so I love how much natural light filters in in the afternoon just from our one tiny window! You can see in this picture that we actually keep a lot of our clothes folded in bins underneath our bed. We have *very* limited closet storage, so all of our shorts, jeans, and sweaters stay folded underneath our bed! I started doing this in college, because our beds had drawers underneath them for extra storages, and I thought it was such a great idea! Granted, it does get a little dusty down there, so I would definitely recommend getting some bins with covers on them to protect your clothes!

Our side tables are incredibly small, but I love them so much because we actually got them for free! They used to be a brown wood with marble tops, so we took them apart and painted them white for a fresher, modern feel. They definitely don't hold much, but they work really well in our smaller space.

We love these little wooden platforms from Amazon for our perfumes/colognes. They add a little rustic touch that I really love, and they also organize the space a little bit more.

Our office is probably my least favorite room in the house. We use it as an office, closet, and dog room, so it's definitely not the most attractive room in the house. Jackson's desk also has a very different look to it than mine does, so I can't wait for the day when we have two separate offices that we can style to our own individual looks!

Like I said, we have super limited closet space, so I keep quite a bit of my clothes on this rack in the office. I decided to keep the look really neutral to give it a bit of a cleaner look!

That's my entire house, guys! Thanks so much for giving this a read and I hope you can pull some inspo from it for your spaces! I would love to know what you guys think of the space, and would love it if you have any advice, as well! Let me know in the comments below!

Much Love,
