My 2-Step Skin Care Routine

Happy Thursday, guys! Story time. When I was younger, I had terrible skin. It was always this really strong pink color, and I had acne like you wouldn't believe. I'm pretty sure I got my first zit when I was in fourth grade, and it was a doozy. It was so embarrassing because no other kids had gotten to this point yet, and people kept asking me what was on my face!

I dealt with bad skin all through middle school and into the first year or two of high school. By that point, I was wearing makeup, but you could still tell that my skin wasn't great. I tried tons of stuff like Proactive and other popular skin-care products, but nothing worked! My mom had been using the Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean wash for a while, and recommended I try it. Before I go any farther, I want to say that this post is completely unsponsored (lol in my dreams) but I just really do swear by these products, and have recommended them to friends for years!

At first, I wasn't using the was regularly, so I didn't see results right away. After I got on a routine, however, I started to notice results. My face began clearing up, and the redness went away a fair bit. I still have a fairly pink face today, but my skin is just so pale that it's just how it is! When my face cleared up I gained so much confidence. By senior year of high school, I was taking a challenge to do no makeup for the entire month of November. Looking back now, its insane to think that I ever wore makeup every day. I typically wear makeup MAYBE once a week now, it's just not something I find necessary any more.

The face was isn't inexpensive, but a bottle lasts FOREVER! I wash my face every time I shower, and a bottle will last me at least a year. You simply use a pea-sized portion to wash your face, and the cleanser does the rest of the work for you! If you wore makeup that day, I also recommend using the Estee Lauder makeup remover before you wash your face. I wear makeup so seldom, that I hardly use it, but it's definitely also an essential of mine!

Recently, I've also started using a moisturizer. For the longest time, I literally just washed my face, and that was the only thing I did as far as skin care. Especially in the winter, though, my face gets super dry and flaky, so I've started to also wear a DayWear moisturizer. It has SPF as well, so it's got your face completely covered. Estee Lauder has this thing called "gifts" about twice a year, and these Day Wear's always come free in them. A customer receives a gift for every dollar amount they spend (I want to say it's around $75), but you can also purchase this online!

Much Love,
Vikka
