Happy 2016! I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Years. The new year has really made me want a fresh start (as it does every year) and made me think hard about some legitimate New Years Resolutions I should set for myself. I loved my resolutions last year because not only were they all things I thought I legitimately needed in my life, but they were also completely achievable with a little bit of work!
This year my resolutions are challenging but much-needed in my life. Here are the New Years Resolutions I set for myself this year:
1. Regulate my blog posts. This is a resolution I've been trying to implement since I started working on the blog, and something that has been surprisingly difficult to accomplish. This year, I'm going to try posting every weekend.
2. Develop a maintainable and fun workout schedule. Once again, something I've been working on forever. This is something that has gone surprisingly well so far, with the help of my super health-conscious and heavily motivated boyfriend slash workout buddy.
3. Become more health conscious of the foods I put in my body. It's no secret that I love health documentaries. I loved Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead; and don't even get me started on Food inc. My newest documentary that I loved was Fed Up, discussing some of the underlying reasons of childhood obesity. This documentary made me really stop and assess some of the foods I eat on a regular basis, and I was shocked and horrified when I discovered that some of my "healthy" food choices were actually terrible for me! I'm now definitely more aware of the ingredients and nutrition information of the foods I eat.
4. Become less aggressive on the highway. This resolution just might be the most important. I like to drive fast, and constantly driving back and forth between Nashville and Chattanooga means that sometimes I feel just a little too comfortable on the interstate. This year, I'm trying to lessen any road rage I might have so I'm definitely becoming more laid-back while driving, and not constantly pushing the gas pedal to the max.
I also have two bucket list items for 2016:
Visit 12 New Places
Run a 5k
There you have it! We'll see just how well I'm able to maintain these resolutions in the next couple of months. I hope everyone has a great start of the year!
