We're on fall break! I decided about two months ago that I wanted to go on a trip this year, and it actually happened. We're traveling through the Smoky Mountains, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, and Knoxville.
The first couple of days have been spent in the Smokies. It took us four hour just to get to the park (when it normally takes two) and good 'ole Siri had us driving in circles trying to find a campground. We finally gave up and decided to sleep in a Walmart parking lot, haha! I've always wanted to go car camping, and we finally made it happen this trip. We spent the next night in a campground though!
On Saturday we woke up and finished the hardest and most rewarding hike I've ever been on. If you ever go to the Smokies, I highly recommend hiking the Chimney Tops. It's a four mile round trip hike. It's straight uphill on the way there, which really got my heart going. I probably asked Jackson to stop 30 times! Liam was without a doubt the most energetic out of the three of us. The top was absolutely stunning. It was nerve-wracking getting to the top, since you have to climb to the summit straight drops and no guard rails on either side, but the view was worth it! I hope everyone else is having a great autumn!
